A sedimentological study conducted with researchers from the Geological Society of America (GSA), focused on comparing beach sand deposits in Far Rockaway, Queens and Montauk Point, Long Island

50 samples were collected from Montauk Point and Far Rockaway during low tide, and used for analysis. Analysis included comparing grain-size distribution, grain shape characteristics, detrital mineral composition, heavy mineral assemblages, and immobile trace element data.
